Welcome to the Cinnamon website.

We hope you enjoy looking around. As you will discover, Cinnamon is much more than just a café – whether you visit alone or in a group, there is plenty to entertain you. Why not dip into our library of books, newspapers and magazines, play a boardgame or enjoy one of our regular arts events like poetry readings or acoustic music?

In addition, our focus is on Fairtrade, organic and locally-produced ingredients, so by choosing from our menu you are supporting small food producers both in Shropshire and the developing world.

EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA! SUNDAY OPENING FROM 4TH MAY 2008!

Following the completion of the repairs to the Severn Valley Railway, Bridgnorth is back to its old self again and Sundays are HOPPING! Consequently, we'd be mad not to open on a Sunday, so duly from 4th May 2008 we will be opening from 11 am to 4 pm on Sundays through the summer and hopefully beyond. Hurrah! Be there, or face a Sunday without muffins.

VERY EXCITING NEWS! BUILDING WORKS COMPLETE AT BRIDGNORTH!

We're absolutely thrilled to announce that the building works to the new extension at Bridgnorth are now COMPLETE!  The new room is now open for business, looking extremely smart, and boasting wonderful year-round views over the River Severn, Low Town and the hills beyond.

So come along soon and admire the view!  We're very proud.

While we're at it, we're also launching a new organic house coffee, blended and roasted by the passionate James' Gourmet Coffee Company.  These guys are wonderful, maintain close relationships with their small producers, pay well over the odds for their excellent coffee, and generally conduct themselves in a caffeine-fuelled enthusiastic whirl!  We love them, and are very excited to be working with them.

Finally, and apropos of the wine tasting we had to celebrate the above things (attended by, amongst others, Sarah and Phil's new baby Ted, who loves a party) we now have a wonderful new wine list.  Yet another excuse for coming in and trying stuff...

MORE EXCITING NEWS!  CINNAMON WINS GOLD STANDARD HEALTHY EATING AWARD!

We're also absolutely delighted to report that Cinnamon has been awarded a Gold Standard Healthy Eating Award by the County's Environmental Health departments in conjunction with the Shropshire County Primary Care Trust.

The award has been established in light of recent Government campaigns and high profile publicity regarding healthy eating messages, and recognises caterers who promote and provide healthier food options, meet smoke-free requirements, maintain good standards of food hygiene and support breastfeeding mothers.

At the time of writing, we are the only cafe or restaurant in Bridgnorth to have achieved the Gold Standard Award - hurrah!

How to Find Us

Cinnamon is situated at the top of Cartway, a historic street which meanders down to the River Severn from Bridgnorth High Town. And where better for a coffee house? Not only are there magnificent views from our terrace along the valley to High Rock and beyond, we are also upholding a long tradition: in the days when Bridgnorth was a bustling river port, there were more than fifty inns and pubs clustered along Cartway, serving thirsty workers from the boats.

We also have a branch at the wonderful Green Wood Centre, Coalbrookdale.  For further details, see www.greenwoodcentre.org.uk
